One report was pulled...Kaplan mustbe writing checks..Kim Hughes is quitting.Diedre left...they are all scum..Gulf Coast and YSI cannot run that place...its all about money
Everyone too busy worry about what administration is doing. What about supervisors who herass their staff on a daily basis and no one does anything about it. Get together as a people and get a voice and speak out. Farabee walks around DJJ like he owns the place and his admin. does nothing even when the staff complains.
Are you talking about SUPERVISOR RICHARD FARABEE at Desoto Huvenile Correction Facility??? What a F***ing joke he is! He is so rude, has no people skills, is scared to face the truth that he can't handle the job! He walks around to different units talking shit about every other staff, and then lies when he gets caught and makes up shit to write down in his big white Tattle Tale Book he keeps and thinks no one reads it!
OYDC in Crestview has had 8 directors in the last 28 months. Good luck to the newest. Those kids need help and they rarely get it.
Its hard to direct when you are helping Howland Ellis cover his ass,,,how many therapists have come and gone? How many from GCYS or OYC refuse to transfer?

The new FA is Sessions....wonder how long he will last..OYDC is Okaloosa Youth Developmental Center accross from Okaloosa Youth Academy..both run by Kaplan,,,
hello everyone .. i'm new to this website and not sure what to write but i guess ill start off with i have 2 boys in residential programs . one is in riverside academy in tampa and the other one is in adolescent residential campus in osecola county.. and i have to be honest im scared to death for my son that is in osecola county hes not be there 3 months and has already been physically and vebally abused by the staff .. he wasnt allowed to make his abuse call until after THEYdid their investigation .. i talked to the program administrator and he seems least concerned then he did about the weather outside .. it took the 2-3 weeks to let me know about their investigation and i still have no idea whats going on .. i feel that my son is never going to phase up in this program because the 2 women that are "under investigation" one is in his staffings and the other one is doing the write ups ..i just would like to know what do i do as a caring and concerned parent .. i do NOT consider this theraputic at all .. soo if any one has any suggestions i would love to here them .. thank you ..

Submit complaints via email to DJJ Inspector General - Mary.Eubanks@djj.state.fl.us
In your complaints, describe Who, What, When, Where. Provide names, date, time, place and all details about the incident.
You want a paper trail, so communicate about complaints only via email to DJJ and the facility.
For each complaint, send a separate email.
Complain about each incident of physical and verbal abuse by staff.
Complain about your son being denied immediate use of the Abuse Hotline.
Request an investigation #. If you don't get a response within a few days, forward your email again. If still no response after one week, forward your email to Charlie.Crist@MyFlorida.com and Cathy@Justice4Kids.org
Physical abuse by staff is a crime, so report that to the local police/sheriff. Request case #.
When visiting your sons at the facilities, talk to other parents/guardians to find common complaints. Ask others to submit complaints. If there are numerous complaints, contact local news media.
If abuse continues, schedule a hearing with your son's judge to request a facility transfer.

Hope no one has a kid at Okaloosa as their recent audit says their mental health substance abuse services failed.
Just read that James Uliaz once again was stopped by police for DUI in August. Last time he got off and DJJ did nothing because he was "under stress." This time he is arrested. Great example, Uliaz! Now he is on administrative leave "pending investigation." Wanna bet that he is being paid and will have no consequences from the good ole boys.
Uliasz was to be terminated but it appears DJJ let him resign. This was his 2nd DUI arrest as Pinellas JDC superintendent. They're glad he's gone, but he will likely get a job from another one of the good ole boys - a DJJ private facility, a DCF facility, or in law enforcement!
Yeah, the ULiaz situation is but one example of how corrupt the entire system it---mess up in DJJ? Hey, go ahead and "resign" and get your next gig with another state/county law enforcement agency. Sickening.
